Hot/Cold Compress Face Towel

Incorporating a heated face towel before shaving and a cold compress afterwards can 
significantly enhance your shaving experience. This method not only prepares the skin and hair 
for a smoother shave but also soothes and revitalises the skin post-shave. The following guide 
outlines a step-by-step process using the Sahih Style compression face towel, ensuring optimal 
results for both comfort and skin health. 

The heated towel purpose is to soften the face, scalp or head to open the skin pores and 
prepare the skin for a closer, more comfortable shave. This will also help to loosen any debris or 
oil, reducing the risk of irritation and ingrown hairs. 

Pre-Shave: Applying Heated Face Towel 
• Pure cotton hot compress towel (single-hole design for comfort) 
• Hot water (40–50 °C) or use with a face steamer 
• Optional: Microwave (500–600W) 

Method 
1. Preparation 
• Thoroughly cleanse your face/head to remove any surface oils or impurities. 
2. Heating the Towel 
• Option 1: Soak the towel in hot water (40–50 °C), then wring out excess water. 
• Option 2: Dampen the towel, place it in a microwave-safe container, and heat for 
15-30 seconds at 500–600W. Check to ensure the towel is not too hot before 
applying to your face. 
3. Application 
• Drape the heated compress towel over your face or head, covering the shaving 
area. Leave it in place for 2–5 minutes. 
• The warmth will open pores and soften hair, making shaving easier and more 
effective. 
4. Proceed to Shave 
• After removing the towel, apply your preferred shaving cream or gel and shave 
the beard edges using the Sahih Sword Razor cleanly with precision on the 
cheek line and neckline to ensure symmetry. 

Post-Shave: Applying a Cold Compress 
Purpose 
A cold compress soothes the skin, reduces redness, and helps close the pores after shaving. 
This step minimises irritation and leaves the skin feeling refreshed. 
• Clean Sahih Style face towel (the same towel can be used if rinsed clean) 
• Place in refrigerator or Cold ice water as below 

Method 
1. Preparation 
• Rinse the towel with cold water, wring out excess moisture, and place it in a 
fresh-keeping bag for refrigerator (5 mins) or in ice water (1 min). 
2. Application 
• Gently press the chilled towel onto the shaved area for 2–5 minutes. 
• The cold compress will calm the skin, reduce inflammation, and tighten pores. 
3. Aftercare 
• Follow with your preferred aftershave balm or moisturiser to lock in hydration 
and further soothe the skin. 

Additional Tips 
• Face towel compress can be washed and reused.  
• Use the compress towel 2–4 times a week for best results. 
• Always check the towel temperature before applying to avoid burns or discomfort. 
• The compact size makes it easy to handle and ideal for travel or home use.
